We were all sitting around trying to figure out our next move. I was completely dazed from having just dropped in from some other place where demons chased my soul. It was like coming in sideways on a bike with two flats and a busted handlebar burning leather over the pavement, reminding me that I was still alive. I never owned a bike but Quan did and he told me about the time he slammed into a deer going about 100mph and slid for his life for a couple of hundred feet. He described how the leather saved his life even though it was shredded from his body; meshed with skin, blood, and bone. I guess it’s one of those situations where only the rider really knows. Life is like that though… each of our experiences can only be truly known by us and nobody else. For me, dropping in from another dimension to land in a decrepit Pelican bar was the most unusual thing to ever happen to me and it hurt as my body contorted beyond what it should be capable of and I hit that tiled floor hard!
So there we were, scheming a plan due to the peculiarity of my grand entrance and the visions that I saw. It was the damnedest thing when suddenly out of nowhere this prism just popped from the corner of the bar and this young girl dropped in from who knows where. We were all speechless except for Charlie who somehow caught this girl before she hit the floor. He must’ve had some serious adrenaline to have gotten over the bar and across the room almost as suddenly as the flash of this girl’s portal. But then, this girl is emitting some strong energy and begins to levitate. You can imagine how taken back we were. Charlie was instantly back behind the bar surely resting one hand on Hank, his trusty shotgun, just in case.
While we are trying to make out what this girl is saying, in walks Dr. Worskovey. Of course, the others called him Markus but he starts talking to the girl as if they know each other. She says her name is Moon Girl and as things settled down from her grand entrance, we can see she’s wearing these bright tights and a mask with a cape that waves slowly behind her. Oh, what a sight it was! I’d never in all the years of going to the Pelican seen such a display of personality disorder! I just looked on but the conversation that she was having with Markus seemed important and I was still recovering from my transmission from the other world. I only had my thoughts at the time and not much else.
This Moon Girl did finally leave on her quest to save the future world where she had come from. But we had our own mess to sort out with all of humanity balancing on the head of a pin where my own relationship with god, the growing taint by the Mother of Darkness, and a library of other circumstances between prophecy and destiny meet at the intersection where the truth lay about our very existence and the council of twelve that guide the Nna and so many others. Moon Girl would have to wait and so she left but not before mentioning the Scripts of Knowledge and compelling Markus to consider joining her in her quest. He believed that everything happened for a reason and since the medallion came from him as a gift to her grandfather, it was clear that he had his own saga running in parallel.
Yeah, it was a hell of a day. Moon Girl. I wonder if we will see her again? I couldn’t personally say one way or the other.
